Rotary nourishes education

Several members of our Club participated in the solidarity initiative organized by the district together with the Rise Against Hunger Association, packaging food destined for boys and girls who will attend schools in Zimbabwe.

Collaboration with Rise Against Hunger across different continents has led to the creation of over 540 million meals since 2005. The Rotary Nourishes Education project will enable the production of 570,240 meals and is the very first project conducted at a national level. The initiative, inspired by the sustainability goals of the UN 2030 Agenda, will feed 2,850 children for a year, also guaranteeing their right to education. Participating members included: Mr. Lombardi and his wife, Mr. Bordoli and his daughter, Mr. Pontiggia and his wife, Mr. Boggia, and Mr. Rossini, pictured here with Governor Gallasso at the end of the day.
The members worked by assembling various foods into single-portion meals, which were then packed into boxes and loaded onto pallets for shipping.
More than 250 Rotarians were present at the event, demonstrating the true meaning of Rotary.
A thank you to those who were able to come, a warm thought to those who wanted to but for various reasons could not be present, and something to think about for those who could have but preferred to stay home…
