The “handover ceremony” evening is always a special moment in the life of the Club.
The outgoing President, slightly moved and somewhat relieved, offers his greetings and thanks; the incoming President, not at all moved and a bit concerned, receives the investiture and remains silent, waiting to attend the next meeting to present his program. Stefano Croci has led the year with wisdom and harmony. He brought many brilliant guests, proposed important service projects, strengthened relationships with other clubs in the Gruppo Lario (all of whose respective Presidents were present at the evening), reinforced the Club’s group spirit, and passionately supported our Rotaract. “Perhaps I did not involve everyone, but on the other hand, I discovered many friends. It has been a year of great personal growth; I take my leave happy.” The baton passes to Gianluca Lombardi, who will certainly continue in the brilliant wake of the Presidents who preceded him. Also present was Diego Minonzio, to whom Rotary Como dedicated an award for the attention his newspaper shows toward Rotary and for the 130th anniversary of the newspaper itself. I also wish to highlight the welcome presence of Maria Cavallini, who shared a message of thanks in memory of her Federico, the “gardener distiller.”
