Exam time, not only for young students dealing with their final exams but also
for Rotarians dealing with the questions from President Gianluca Lombardi who
wanted to verify whether, at the end of his term, we have improved our
knowledge of the “essence” of Rotary.
Everyone passed (or almost) with full marks and so
Gianluca recalled the interesting meetings of his year (while images of them scrolled
on a screen at the back of the room), expressed satisfaction with what was accomplished
just as we all were (moreover with the record in recent years of new member
enrollments, 8), the acknowledgments already written in the bulletin (for the series: who
read it?) and finally, after pinning Marco Mazzitti as a new Member, for the 96th consecutive year
the traditional handover ceremony took place. Francesca Maria
d’Asta, the first female President in the club’s history will surely surprise us with other
special effects. But that will be another story to experience. Oh, I forgot….”in
the splendid setting of Villa d’Este…”
